É una pianta tropicale, originaria dell’Etiopia. Il frutto è costituito da una piccola drupa dalle dimensioni di una ciliegia che, raggiunta la maturazione ha un colore rosso-nerastro. All’interno ha 2 semi disposti l’uno di fronte all’altro, mentre la parte convessa è rivolta verso l’esterno. Il caffè è una bevanda ottenuta dalla macinazione dei semi di alcune specie di piccoli alberi tropicali appartenenti al genere Coffea, esistono 100 specie e commercialmente le principali sono l"arabica" (Coffea arabica) e la "robusta" (Coffea canephora).

It's a tropical plant, originally from Ethiopia. The fruit is a small drupe the size of a cherry that reached the maturation has a red-blackish. Inside has 2 seeds arranged opposite one another, while the convex part is directed toward the outside. Coffee is a beverage obtained by grinding the seeds of some species of small tropical trees of the genus Coffea, there are 100 species and commercially the most important are the "Arabian" (Coffea arabica) and the "robust" (Coffea canephora). The finest coffee in the world, "Kopi Luwak", is produced in Indonesia. The production is of the order of 50 kg per year, and costs about 500 € per kg. The origin of the coffee still is not sure but we think inotno 600 AD in Ethiopia and spread to Europe in the seventeenth century. The coffee is used for the preparation of the typical beverage, for sweets.
