Delta IV (stage 1) performances analysis
with CEA
The Common Booster Core (CBC) is an American rocket stage, which is used on the Delta IV rocket
as part of a modular rocket system. Delta IV rockets flying in the Medium and Medium+
configurations each use a single Common Booster Core as their first stage, while the Heavy
configuration uses three; one as the first stage and two as boosters.
Theoretical rocket performaces assuming equilibrium composition during expansion from infinite
area combustor, a nozzle ratio of 21.5 and a chamber pressure of 10.26 MPa are shown on page
2, while theoretical rocket performances assuming frozen composition after point two are shown
on page 3.
