• Lined by skin

• Nostrils

• Bony framework (two nasal bones, frontal processes of maxillary bone

and nasal part of frontal bone)

• Cartilaginous framework (minor and major alar cartilages)

• Muscles (procerus, nasalis, dilatator nasi anterior and the depressor

septi)

• Vascular supply: Procerus

facial, opthalmic

and infraorbital Oblique

Alar Bony and cartilaginous framework

Muscles of external nose

NASAL CAVITY:

• Start at the nostril (nasal vestibule)... End at the

choanae Opening of air sinuses
