Childhood and Family Influences

Mary Shelley was born in 1797, her parents had been heavily influenced by the ideas of the french revolution and they were part of a small radical group. ten days after Mary's birth his mother died and two years later his father married another woman. Mary's emotional life was troubled, intellectual stimulus was not wanting. when she was 17 she meets a man, she married him and together move to France in a country house.

Writing of Frankenstein and Later Years

in 1816 she began to write Frankenstein which was published anonymously in 1818. when her husband died she return to England and she spent the last years of her life with the family of his son and died in 1851 at the age of 53.
