Determinare m e q.
f(x1) = mx1 + q
f(x0) = mx0 + q
Sottraendo f(x1) - f(x0) = mx1 - mx0
m = (f(x1) - f(x0)) / (x1 - x0) rapporto incrementale
q = f(x) - (f(x) - f(x0)) / (x - x0)
Def. f : (a, b) → ℝ, x0 ∈ (a, b), diciamo che f è derivabile se esiste limite.
Il limite del rapporto incrementale per x → x0.
∃ limx → x0 (f(x) - f(x0)) / (x - x0) x → x0 (f(x) - f(x0)) / (x - x0)
f' derivabile in (a, b) = intende che ∀ f'(x) ∀ x ∈ (a, b)
Passando h → x - x0 limx → x0 (f(x) - f(x0)) / (x - x0) = limh → 0 (f(x0 + h) - f(x0)) / h
f': (a, b) → ℝ derivabile x ∈ (a, b) → f'(x) ∈ ℝ
f'': (a, b) → ℝ
x → f'(x)
f''(x) = limh → 0 (f'(x + h) - f'(x)) / h

Legame tra continuità e derivabilità
∃x → x0 lim f(x) = f(x0)
∄x → x0 lim {f(x)-f(x0)}/{x-x0} ←∞
Teorema: se f è derivabile in un punto x allora f è continua.
Dim. limx → x0 f(x) = f(x0) → limx → x0 {f(x)-f(x0)} = 0 → limx → x0 {f(x)-f(x0)}/{x-x0} = 0 → f è continua
Esempi di continuità e non derivabilità
Ex. f(x) = |x|
Continua limx → x0 f(x) = limx → x0 |x| = f(x0)
Derivata limh → 0 {f(x+h)-f(x)}/h = limh → 0 {h|h|}/h = {h-1}h0+
Lim dx ≠ lim sx ⇒ f non derivabile in 0
Ex. f(x) = ∛x continua in ℝ
limx → x0 {f(x)-f(x0)}/{x-x0} = limx → x0 {f(x)-f(0)}/{x-0} = limx → x0 ∛x/x = limx → x0 {1}/x2 = ±∞ ⇒ f non derivabile in x0
Studiamo rapporto incrementale.
m = {f(x)-f(x0)}/{x-0} = {1}/x2 = ±∞
In generale se f(x)0 + ∞ (oppure −∞) il punto (x0, f(x0)) si chiama punto a tangente verticale.
Derivata destra e sinistra
Def. (derivata destra e sinistra)
f: (a, b) → ℝ
x0 limx → x0+ f(x)-f(x0) / x-x0 = f'dx(x0) derivata dx
x0 limx → x0- f(x)-f(x0) / x-x0 = f'sx(x0) derivata sx
f è derivabile in x0 se e solo se f'sx(x0) = f'dx(x0) e f'dx(x0) = f(x0) e f'(x0)= f'sx(x0) = f'dx(x0)
Ex. f(x) = √|x| x ∈ ℝ
f'(x0) = limh → 0+ f(0+h2)-f(0) / h = limh → 0+ √|h| / |h|/2 = limh → 0+ 1 / √|h| = +∞ f'(x0) = limh → 0+ (√|h| / h = limh → 0→0 1/h / h = +∞ f(x) = limh → 0 f(x0) = limh → 0 1/h / h1/2 = limh → 0 (1/h / h)→ f non derivabile in 0
Se f'sx(x0) = ±∞ e f'dx(x0) = ∞ o viceversa, allora il punto (x0, f(0)) si dice cuspide.
Se f è continua in x0 e f'dx(x0) ≠ f'(x0) = x0, con il √|h| una delle due d
