Concetti Chiave
- The late 18th century saw significant changes in farming and manufacturing due to scientific advancements and inventions.
- Agricultural revolution led to more efficient farming with larger arable lands, better soil fertility, and selective breeding of livestock.
- Population nearly doubled, leading to improved general nutrition, though poorer people suffered due to loss of lands.
- The Industrial Revolution began with mechanization in the wool spinning sector, prompting rural populations to move to urban areas.
- The invention of the steam engine by James Watt in 1764 revolutionized the textile industry, coal mining, and iron production.
Agricultural and Demographic Changes
At the end of 18th century the methods of farming and of the manufacture of goods began to change. Scientific thinking gave much impulse a new inventions. in this period there had been a vast increase in trade, both domestic and colonial. another important factor of this changes was a population increase, almost it's doubled. the agricultural revolution happened gradually with the construction of more efficient and larger arable farms:
- the soil was drained and made more fertile;
- The animals were bred selectively therefore producing more meat;
- The population in general was better fed but poop people suffered because they haven't got their lands.
This was possible thanks to George III known farmer George.
Industrial Innovations and Migrations
the first process mechanized was the spinning wool, the first sector to feel the industrial revolution. the country people moved to towns. the textile being produced was cotton, that unlike wool, was easy to wash and more cheap. in 1764 james watt created the steam engine, which change not only the textile industry but also cool mining and the production of iron
- Il suolo venne svuotato e reso più fertile ;
- Gli animali venivano allevati selettivamente quindi producevano carni migliori ;
