The poet
He can talk about the individual "I embrace the common" and all the people at the same time. This word is central in Emerson's poetry. The poet is a complete man between partial persons. Every man is only half himself, the other half is expression; but in love, art, politics, there are secrets and pains. The poet is the sayer, the name, and represents beauty; he's a sovereign, stands on the centre. Beauty is the creator of the Universe (according to Cordinge) and language even changes it different from the word-form. Words are actions, and actions are a kind of words connected with a divine space. The poet is also a genius, which expands the doctrine and allegory of things, and for him exists in infinite time.
Henry David Thoreau
H.D. Thoreau [1817 - 1862], as Concow, relates to the role of Concord. In Thoreau, there is the importance of an entire immersion, an individuality, and the pursuit of innocence. He was a teacher full of interest, which spanned from politics to nature, science to literature, and the transcendentalist tradition. Thoreau describes his autobiographical experience, and he speaks against materialism and communism, and he critiques democracy. He approaches the simple life and is never ready to respect the "injustices practiced by institutions". For example, the Mexican War, which he considered an act of open aggression. In protest, he included denying to pay taxes and described, from prison, the philosophy of passive resistance to institutions, an idea that would inspire pacifist movements, such as that of Mahatma Gandhi.
