The aim of the study is the design of a beam (beam ABC) of a framed structure. The frame is
loaded by three distributed loads (loading cases q , q and q ) and one concentrated force (load

case q ). For beam ABC the diagrams of the internal actions (axial force, shear force and bending

moment) associated with the four loads are shown below (see Figure 1 in page 3). Type, nature
and value of the loads are given in Table 1. 1:

You are required to:
1. identify the load combinations (N-M-V) for the design of all the main beam sections;
2. evaluate the internal actions at USL (N-M-V) for all beam sections and for all the identified

3. focusing on the most loaded section of the beam:
