the LTFC sample. The study used dyadic analysis, the Pearson’s “r” and the ICC to
investigate the degree of agreement.
5) The results show an increase of adolescent’s externalizing problems, in OOH care,
based on self-report questionnaries. Both adolescents’ and caregivers’ reports about
internalizing problems at Wave I are associated to the incidence of externalizing
problems at Wave IV. The agreement is inversely associated with this incidence; so, if
caregivers have a negative vision of adolescent’s problems, the adolescents, in
response, are going to internalize this opinion in the way that the parents may
negatively influence the externalizing behaviours over time.
6) The conclusion highlights the importance of the disagreement between caregivers
and adolescent about the youth’s internalizing problems to predict the externaling
behavior across time.
