Present simple e present continuous - Confronto

Il Present Simple di un verbo (ad esempio 'speak') è:

Forma interrogativa
Do I speak?

N.B: il Present Simple si usa per:
-descrivere azioni frequenti* (Es: they never eat eggs = non mangiano mai uova);
-esprimere un'opinione o uno stato d'animo (Es: I hate Italian = odio l'italiano);
-descrivere eventi programmati stabiliti dagli orari (Es: the train leaves at 7.15 = il treno parte alle 7.15).
*Il Present Simple è accompagnato da avverbi di frequenza come 'generally', 'often', 'always', 'ever', 'never', 'sometimes', 'rarely', 'occasionally', 'weeks', ecc...

Il Present continuous di un verbo (ad esempio read) è:

He is reading He isn't reading

We are reading We aren't reading
You are reading You aren't reading

Forma interrogativa

Are they reading?

N.B: il Present Continuous* (che si traduce in italiano col presente indicativo o con il verbo stare più il gerundio) si usa per descrivere:
-azioni in svolgimento (Es: She's cooking = lei sta cucinando);
-azioni future programmate (Es: When you leaving? On 3rd, by bus = Quando parti? Il 3, col bus).
*è accompagnato dagli avverbi di frequenza 'in this period', 'at the present time', 'this week', 'in this moment', 'now', 'this evening', 'these days' e ''tomorrow.
