The formula that gives us the time expressed in days comes from the simple proportion:
t : t = (24 × 60 × 60) : 1 seconds days
Therefore, we obtain:
tseconds t = days × 24 × 60 × 60
We are using the variable t because the sampling rate is so small that the in-days intervals are in the order of 10 s: it does not make any sense to express time in seconds. Moreover, since the sampling rate is defined over the day, it is more reasonable to view data at this scale.
