- No-actions verbs → verbi senza azioni. Si usano solo per il present simple:
- Verbi sensoriali → hear, see, look, seem, sound, smell.
- Verbi di opinione → believe, consider, like, love, hate, prefer, think.
- Verbi possessivi → have, own, belong.
- Altri → agree, be, depend, need, mean, remember, realize, recognize, seem, want.
Present continuous
‘m not/isn’t/aren’t

I’m brushing my teeth.
- Azioni temporanee →
I’m going to work by bus this week.
- Espressioni “now” o “around now” →
Now, these days, this week, at the moment. He’s studying a lot this week.

Future forms
- Previsioni →
Will (su qualcosa che pensiamo possa succedere) I think he’ll win the election.
- Be going to (su qualcosa che probabilmente accadrà) →
The doctor said I’m going to have a baby girl.
- Decisioni →
Will (decisioni prese al momento), be going to (decisioni già prese).
- Appuntamenti →
Quando usiamo il present continuous per gli accordi dobbiamo sempre includere quando. - I’m seeing the dentist at 6pm - we are getting married next week. Possiamo usare anche be going to. → I’m going to play tennis today.
- Future time clauses →
When, as soon as, until, before, after. We use the present simple.
- Altri usi di will:
Promesse, fatti futuri, proposte (shall we..?), richieste.
May or might
- Might è usata per situazioni che sono difficilmente probabili o che non sono effettivamente accadute.
- May, invece, si occupa di situazioni che sono possibili o che potrebbero essere fattibili.
I might be late for dinner today (=not sure)
The economy might suffer a global recession next year.
She looks very tired. She might not come with us.
Temperatures may go up this year.
We may not have enough time to finish the report for tomorrow.
Present perfect
- Azioni passate (No time mentioned) (finite).
- Just, already, yet.
- Recently.
- Time expression (today, this week) (tempo che non è finito).
- Esperienze passate (never, ever, before).
