Palamon and Arcite were two cousins who lived in Thebes.
Theseus, Hippolyta’s husband, was the Duke of Athens who decided to attack their city.
They were taken prisoner and locked in a tower.
Both fell in love with Emily, Hippolyta’s sister, and they fought for who should have married her.
Arcite and Palamon met again seven years later and fought again until Theseus arrived. He told them to go away and return tu fight with 100 knights.

Arcite won the battle but he was very bounded, so he told Palamon to marry Emily.
