Formazione del present simple passive
Present simple passive (si usa per descrivere dati di fatto o un processo)
Si forma con il Present simple del verbo be più il past participle del verbo principale.
English breakfast is(isn’t) served until 11 a.m.
Is English breakfast served until 11 a.m? Yes/No it is/isn’t
Spesso la forma passiva rende il “sì” passivante italiano
English is spoken here = qui si parla inglese
Uso del complemento di termine
Se c’è un complemento di termine e non un complemento oggetto, il complemento di termine può
diventare soggetto della frase passiva.
Esempio: “Ai bambini viene detto di giocare” = Children are told to play
Grow = coltivare
Manufacture = fabbricare
Produce = produrre
Used to = parlare di situazioni o abitudini passate che non sono più tali al presente.
Esempio: I used to play with dolls when I was a child
