PAST CONTINUOUS
Il Past Continuous è un tempo verbale che serve per indicare un’azione che era in corso di svolgimento nel passato.
JACK STAVA DORMENDO SULLA SPIAGGIA
JACK WAS SLEEPING ON THE BEACH
- FORMA AFFERMATIVA
Il Past Continuous si forma con il passato del verbo essere (WAS-WERE) più la forma in –ING del verbo
Past continuous inglese: WAS-WERE + INFINITO + -ING
You were running in the corridor.
Luca was shouting during the break.

WAS-WERE + SOGGETTO + INFINITO + -ING
I was reading a book.

Was I reading a book?
- FORMA NEGATIVA
SOGGETTO + WAS-WERE + NOT + INFINITO + -ING
I wasn’t reading a book.
You weren’t calling me.
