At the week end we didn’t work, so one Friday we decided to move to the south of Taiwan to visit Lotus Pond, a famous touristic place. It is famous for its lotus flowers and its temples. There was a beautiful promenade round the lake that ended up at two towers. The entrance of the first tower represented a dragon and the entrance of the second one represented a tiger. These animals are very important in the Chinese horoscope. In a near temple many people lit incense candles and they prayed for Buddha.

There was a fantastic atmosphere. Another week end we moved to Taipei city :Taiwan’s capital. I like eating Chinese food , as a matter of fact I often go to a Chinese restaurant in Rome with my friends/girlfriend, so I couldn’t wait to try the original Chinese food in Taiwan. In fact , after work, we always went out for dinner , and we always changed restaurants to try different typical dishes. On the streets you can find some hot pot shops. In these shops the waiter gives you all ingredients for a fish soup and you can prepare the soup using a cooker and a pot. A typical famous Chinese dish is boiled goose. It is served in a cup with Soya broth. I tried it but I didn’t like it. I prefer roast beef to boiled goose.I found it in a Taipei food shop but I didn’t have the courage to try it. While we were walking, we saw a Chinese typical tea shop where we saw an old man that was preparing tea. He invited us to try his tea and we accepted his invitation. In a small teapot he put some(4) tea leaves and he poured hot water. I didn’t like that tea but I bought some tea and some souvenirs.I have been impressed by the traditions and by the well organized another voyage of Taiwan, and I think that I will probably go there again with my girlfriend to show her the beauties of the island and to spend some days in total relax drinking tea and eating chicken feet.
