New York is a city of extremes. There is immense wealth and great poverty.
It is also a cultural center for the music, the cinema and the theater.
E.B. White (Elwyn Brooks White) once wrote that there is three New York :
First, the New York of the man or woman who was born there.
Second, the New York of the commuters, people who work in the New York but do not live there. Third, the New York for the people who was born somewhere else and came to New York in quest of something.
In the New York you can find:
- Statue of Liberty

New York is also call the Big Apple because everybody can grasp and taste it.
One of the monuments that I like the most is the Statue of Liberty.
Liberty Enlightening the World, or better known as the Statue of Liberty, is a symbol of New York and the United States of America. Designed by Frédéric Barthold on October 28, 1886. The statue is a gift from the people of France to the United States. This statute is 46 meters high. It is a welcome to all those who arrive in the USA, but in the previous century, the statute is was a symbol of welcome and hope.
In the picture there is a woman wearing a long robe, she holds a torch in one hand, symbol of the eternal fire of liberty, while in another hand she holds a book where is written the date of the Independence Day, July 14 1776.At the foot there are broken chains, symbol of the liberation from the power of the despotic ruler. And in the head there is a crown with the 7 points that represent the 7 seas and 7 continents.
