Alberto, Sara here! How are you? Today I would like to talk to you about the place where I live. We’ve

been e-mail friend for a year but I never told you. You know, I live in Veneto, but I live exactly in a very

small place called Conegliano, located in province of Treviso. It is not big but I have to say that it is well

stocked: here you can find 2 mini supermarkets, a pharmacy, an ice cream shop, some little clothing

stores and children’s park. Not far from this tiny place you can find also a shopping center, and if you

want to take a daily trip in 40 minutes you can reach the sea or the mountain too! I really hope someday

you can be there to visit my place, obviously you will be my guest. See you soon Alberto, waiting for

here! How are you? Today I’m really glad to tell you about my recent trip! I went to Catania to visit my

cousin. I have been there just a week, but mainly have visited the city of Catania and also have

sunbathing at the sea. When I arrived I immediately put down the luggage and went to eat! In Sicily the

eating is on of the most important things, and I must admit that it is really delicious …and plentiful.

However it is a city with a lot of attractions to visit: churches, museums, traditionals fairs, historical

paths. In every corner of the city there is always something to do. Maybe next time you can come with

me. And what about you, tell me your last nice trip! Waiting for your fast reply, bye!

-IF YOU COULD GO ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO AND WHY? If I could choose

a place to go, I’m sure I’ll go to Paris. I love travelling and learning all differents cultures, in recent years

I have managed to make several trips but Paris has remained in my heart! I know there is not the sea or

the mountain, it is a big town with a busy life. I think I love just that, even if there is a frenetic life, Paris

can offer you fast means of transport, a lot of job opportunities, activities for children and adults every

day, evening activities along the Seine, youthful life, business activities always open but and in addition

fantastic landcapes, quiet places to relax, beautiful gardens to long walk or cycling. I think I’ll also live

very well there!

-WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF BEING A STUDENT? There are many

advantages and disadvantages of being a student. I think the advantages are thant you learn to relate

with others, learning new values and ways of life, developing your mind and maybe have some extra

free time; in addition a student can have some discounts (cinema, musem, shopping, ..). the

disadvantages instead are that is often difficult to have a job because you are always overloaded study

or laboratories at any time of the day, you have to study even on weekends and always meet deadlines

(tests or homework). Work and study are relly different, I think it’s important to make some sacrifices to

study so in the future you can do the work you like.

Dear David, how are you? Like every Thursday I’m here to tell you about my plans for the next weekend.

Tomorrow I have to go to work but I finish at 14! I think I’ll eat a quick sandwich and than I’ll ready for

my beautiful trip, my luggage is already ready. At 15 o’clock my train will leave so in an half hour I’ll be

at the destination: Verona. Here my sister will waiting for me, she lives in Verona and this weekend it’s

her birthday. She will ost me so I’ll also cuddle my niece, I see her just a few times in a year. This will be

the best weekend for me. How about you? Tell me about your plans. Waiting for your reply, bye bye!

-WRITE AN EMAIL TO YOUR FRIEND HELEN AND TELL HER HOW YOU CELEBRATED YOUR LAST

BIRTHDAY. Dear Helen, how are you? I hope you’ve recovered! I’m really sad you couldn’t be here for my

birthday. Anyway I’m going to tell all about this day. I have a very large garden so even though we were

many we all entered! In the afternoon me and my husband decorated putting all the lights, tables and

then we went to buy som alcohlic drinks and various drinks (coke, orange juice,..), a lot of food (pizza,

sandwich, chips) and obviously the strawberry cake. At 5 o’clock all guests came, we put on the music

and started dancing and singing too. We ate all the food adn had this great party until midnight. We

had a lot of fun and love, I really missed you! A very big kiss, hope to see you soon.

-WHAT DID YOU DO LAST WEEKEND? My last weekend started on Friday with a day full of work. On

Friday night I stayed at home, my best friend came to eat a pizza together and than we saw a movie.

On Saturday I woke up early because I did my houskeeping, what a boring thing! In the afternoon I did

some shopping and on Saturday evening I went out with my boyfriend, we celebrated our 2th

anniversary. On Sunday I went to visit my parents and I had lunch there, they live 2 hours away from

me. Than I went home, I prepared the dinner and also the lunch for the next working day. I had a really

nice relaxing bath, I ate watching my favourite series and finally I went to sleep.

-HOW DO YOU USUALLY SPEND YOUR FREE TIME? At the moment I work and study and I’ve got a little

child: I’ve got too little free time! However I love reading and cooking especially baking. Sometimes I

find time for breakfast or coffe with my friends, talking to them always makes me fell better! I usually

spend my free time in the evening to do housecleaning, to wash or to iron. All the rest of my time is for

my little child! Play with him, read him books and everything it needs to take care of him. I hope that

when I’ll finish my studies, I’ll take some time for me too.

-DESCRIBE A FESTIVAL. In my country we don’t have a special festival or recurrance to celebrate. I would

like to talk about the patron saint in a city near of me, who is St. Anthony. This festival takes places on

june 13th and there is a great party for the whole country. Decorations are put for all the city and there

is a large procession that starts from the central church to the port, where the saint is then put on a

boat. During the days before the procession, the 2 main squares are also set up with many stalls where

you can eat and drink a lot of local food. To conclude this celebration, the last evening, there are many

colerful fireworks.

-DESCRIBE A TYPICAL WEEK DAY IN YOUR LIFE. Every day I wake up at 6 o’clock with my little child.

We get dressed and than we have breakfast together with my husband. After that I go to work, my

husband take the child to the kindergarten and later he goes to work too. At 2 o’clok I finish working

and I recover my son from the kindergarten. We go home, my son want to play and I do it with him but

than I start to fix up the house or cook for the dinner. Later I wash my child and I give him to eat, at 8

o’clock he already sleeps. My husband returns, we have dinner together and usually we watch a little

bit of tv. We go to sleep and the next day repeat all!

-WHAT DO YOU PLAN TO DO IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING GRADUATION? My future is already almosto

rganized in my head: once I graduated, I would like to change my job! I like my courrent work but my

dream has always been to work wit children. I hope to find quickly a job in the nursery so I can train

very well. My really dream is to open my own nest maybe with my sister, she’s already working in a

kindergarden. I’ve got a one year old baby but I love alarge family so I also wish to have more children:

this last plan will be in a more distant future!

-WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU HAD MORE FREE TIME? If I had a lot of free time available, I would like

to go for a long walks to catch some rays and have got a lot of low-key nights with friends. Furthermore

I really would like to spend my free time to do volunteer work especially with children or people with

disabilities. Than If I had so much free time I would also like to dedicate myself to travel in distant

countries and learn new cultures. Free time is really precious, someday I hope I’ll have it a lot!

-JOB INTERVIEWS ARE EASY. DO YOU AGREE OR DISAGREE? There would be a lot to say about job

interviews. I think that there are some interviews that are easy because the employer manages them to

make everything easier. While this type of employer is easygoing, other employers are instead expose

the task you have to do describing ita s impossible, but doing so the do not realize how much they put

people in difficulty especially young people or beginners. This is why I think I can not say that I agree

or desagree with this: I can only say that interviews depends on the employer.

-WRITE A SHORT REVIEW OF THE LAST FILM YOU SAW. The last film I saw became my favourite movie.

It’s called “pay it forward” and it’s an American film from 2000. I already read the book but I love the

film too. the main protagonist is a child called Trevor that lives only with his mum, he has an hard life.

The new school teacher assigns him a project and he decides to do three good deeds to as many people

who in turn must reciprocate with three other people who will then reciprocate with other people, and

so on. A magical fairy tale whose message is the redemption of good feelings about the adversities of

life. That’s why I’ll see it again and again, really love the idea of a society that helps each other.

-HOW DO YOU EXPECT YOUR CAREER TO ADVANCE IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS? I believe that my career in

5 years will obviusly be different. I’m studying this degree course to revolutionize my job and I really

hope to find a work with children, it’s my dream. Moreover in 5 years I will be more mature mainly if I

will have a new job, I will have a new professional growth and I think I will be also more satisfied. I think

the best for me it’s to open a nest of my own, but in 5 years it’s so difficult to realize it.

-EDUCATION IS OUR GREATEST ASSET. DO YOU AGREE OR DISAGREE? I agree that education is our

greatest resource and we should try as much as possibile to make it better for our children. For me it is

important to focus on the education of the children because, since they are young, it is important to

transmit them some vital values and points of view. A great education is significant for them to face the

new contact with the society which they wll rule. In addition it is crucial to teach them these values not

only through words but also by facts. I’m going to do my best with my little son!

-WRITE 100 WORDS ABOUT AN EMBRASSING EXPERIENCE YOU HAD. Last August I was at my best

friend’s wedding. I wore a long pink dress and while I was accompanying her uncle in a wheelchair

getting some food at the buffet… suddenly I tripped in front of all the waiters! I sprained my ankle and

I two guests have fallen. Fortunately nobody has been hurt execpt me. I ruined the party to all who has
