  • Attenzione a: My mum has just washed her hair. Have you ever eaten sushi?
  • Still e yet = ancora nelle frasi negative: No, I have never eaten sushi.

  • Ever = mai nelle domande.

  • This is the best film I have ever seen.

Present perfect: been vs gone

  • Usiamo gone per indicare che qualcuno è andato da qualche parte e non è ancora tornato: My dad and my little brother have gone to the supermarket (sono ancora lì).
  • Usiamo been per indicare che qualcuno è andato da qualche parte ed è tornato: My dad and my little brother have been to the supermarket. There is a bag with some food on the table.

Present perfect simple vs past simple

Present perfect simple:

  • Gli avverbi di tempo utilizzati sono indeterminati: recently, ever, twice, so far, ecc...
  • I have won three awards up to now.

Past simple:

  • Sappiamo precisamente quando è successo qualcosa: I saw Jim at the cinema yesterday.
  • Non c'è relazione con il momento presente: The elevator broke last year (No effetto sul presente perché ora funziona).
  • Le espressioni di tempo sono determinate: I won three awards last year.

Usi del present perfect continuous:

  • Azione iniziata nel passato che continua tuttora: We have been working here for two weeks.
  • Porre l'enfasi sul risultato di un'azione: I have been painting all day. I am exhausted!

Ricorda: i verbi di stato (attività mentali, emozioni, possesso) non sono usati alla forma in -ing: I have known Jack for ten years NOT: I have been knowing Jack for ten years.

Present perfect simple vs present perfect continuous

Present perfect simple:

  • L'azione non è terminata: I have been reading that thriller book (lo sto ancora leggendo).
  • Si usa anche con verbi statici: I have understood the concept.
