Present perfect e present perfect continuous

sia il present perfect che il present perfect continuous si riferiscono ad un’azione che inizia nel passato e si “perfeziona” nel presente, ma il present perfect indica che l'azione è completata e si focalizza soprattutto sul raggiungimento e sul risultato dell’azione.

Esempi

She’s travelled to many countries, but she’s never been outside Europe.
Have you ever tried Japanese food?' No, never.

il present perfect e' spesso utilizzato con avverbi come ever,never,already,just,still,yet

The invoice has just arrived
They have already left
Have you eaten yet? No, I haven’t eaten yet

quando utilizziamo il present perfect continuous si indica che l’attività / azione non è ancora completata o vogliamo sottolineare da quando tempo dura l’azione o la sua continuità. E' di solito utilizzato con for e since:

How long have you been waiting for this bus?' I’ve been standing here for over half an hour.

These buses never come.

I’ve been looking for a summer holiday job for two weeks now, but I still haven’t found one.

We’ve been living here in Palermo since 2002.
