Poem and most important sound devices

A poem is a literary composition in which the words are organized in separate lines, often ending in rhyme, and are chosen for their sound and for the images and ideas they suggest. The three important things in a poem are:
• layout: is the arrangement of the words on a page. The basic unit is the line (is a row of written words) that can be arranged into stanzas (is a group of lines of poetry forming a unit). Is the first thing that impresses the reader and that distinguishes a poem from a prose passage.
• language: is rich in language devices.
• sound: there are lots of sound devices, which are images that are created through sound, like:
rhyme: a word that has the same last sound as another word.
caesura(caesura): It is a pause that it is usually in the middle of the line. It is often marked with a punctuation mark.
assonance: is the similarity in sound between two close syllables, created by the same vowels but different consonants
allitteration: the use of the same sound, especially consonants, at the beginning of several words that are close together. But sometimes words begin with the same word, but they don’t have the same sound, like whole world.
onomatopea: the act of creating or using words that include sounds that are similar to the noises the words refer to
repetiotion and refrain: it’s when lines or phrases are repeated several times in the poem with the aim of create a musical effect. This is called repetition and sometimes refrain. Highlighting specif aspects.
