1. Rewrite the following sentences: they must have the same meaning.

1. Esempio: Mira isn't as tall as John. => John is taller than Mira.

2. Glasgow isn't as beautiful as Edinburgh.
3. Caterhin isn't as a good a listener as Mira.
4. The Millennium Bridge isn't as old as Westminister Bridge.
5. Rome isn't as modern as Buenos Aires.
6. They say the new generation isn't as hardworking as the old one.
7. Jet isn't as young as Mira.
8. Take-Seat food isn't as tasty as home-made food.
9. Mira isn't as beautiful ad Catherine.

Io ci ho provato a farne alcune, altre non so farle.

2. ?
3. ?
4. The Millennium Bridge is older than Westminister Bridge.
5. Rome is moderner (?) than Buenos Aires.
6. ?
7. Jet is younger than Mira.
8. Take-away food is tastier than home-made food.
9. ? [Non so come va inserito Beautiful].

2. Complete the sentences with the words below. Use as... as, as much... as, as many... as. Le parole sono: bridges, money, tea, big, elegant, clever, tall, trees, [s]old[/s].

2. In Rome there aren't ... in Venice.

Primo esercizio

2. Glasgow isn't as beautiful as Edinburgh.
3. Caterhin isn't as a good a listener as Mira.

5. Rome isn't as modern as Buenos Aires.
6. They say the new generation isn't as hardworking as the old one.

9. Mira isn't as beautiful ad Catherine.

--------------

2. Edinburgh is more beautiful than Glasgow.
3. As a good listener Mira is better than Caterhin.

5. Rome is moderner (?) than Buenos Aires.
Non userei "moderner". More modern va meglio.

6. They say the old generation was more hardworking than the new one

2)In Rome there are not as many bridges as in Venice.
3)She's exactly as tall as I am.
4)A dog isn't as big as a lion.
5)When you find a job, I'm sure you'll have as much money as I do.
6)When she dresses up, she's as elegant as a top model!elegant
7)In a garden there aren't as many trees as in a forest.
8 )The Italians usually don't drink as much tea as the English.
9)John is as clever as Andy, but he doesn't study.enough!clever

Provo a spiegarti brevemente il secondo esercizio.

1)As...as significa letteralmente "tanto + agg + quanto". Esempio:

"Tom is as stupid as Bill" ---> "Tom è tanto stupido quanto Bill". Semplificato:

"Tom è stupido quanto Bill."

2)As many...as crea un confronto che concerne realtà contabili.
