The Puritan Influence and Milton's Epic in 'Paradise Lost'

Who is the representative of the Puritans?

He was the Represntative of the Puritanical ones, those people who were separated from the Church of England. According to the Puritanical ones, everything had to be more rigorous and it was had to inspire to the commandments of th Bible. The Puritanical ones were well represented both in Parliament and in the tall social classes and the originated from the middle class. The works of Milton were inspired by the Bible. Milton in "Paradise Lost" exalts the power of Satana, that was the most beloved angl from god that he will be chased then in hell. Satana has sinned of pride, in how much he is compared to god and for revenge he says that it is better to govern the hell that to be enslaved in heaven.

Lui fu rappresentante dei Puritani, coloro che si erano separati dalla Chiesa d'Inghilterra. Secondo i Puritani tutto doveva essere più rigoroso e si doveva ispirare ai comandamenti della Bibbia. I Puritani erano ben rappresentati sia nel Parlamento che nelle alte classi sociali e provenivano dalla borghesia. Le opere di Milton furono ispirate dalla lettura della Bibbia. Milton in "Paradiso Perduto" esalta il potere di Satana, che era l'angelo più amato da Dio (light heaven=Lucifer) che verrà cacciato poi negli Inferi (Satan=rebel angel). Satana ha peccato d'orgoglio, in quanto si è paragonato a Dio e per vendetta dice che è meglio governare l'Inferno che essere schiavi in Paradiso.
