Hobbies in Free Time

There are many people who spend their free time in different ways. Some read, some surf the net, others practice sports or go to the gym, go swimming, while others spend their free time with their pets . In my little free time that my family and my work leaves me, I like building, creating or modifying things , as I’m into DIY . I’ve never been a good carpenter but, I have many tools, and I have fun in changing things around, and I also believe that it is also important to recycle things instead of throwing them away. For example I made a gate for my dog, I modified a TV table from my bedroom, I made a wooden hook and the next thing that I will make, will be a basket for my son. All this, using old wooden tables and buying only what I need.I live in a town near Rome, in a small flat, but I also have a garden and a big garage and that’s where I practice my hobby. When the weather is nice I can use spray varnish, so I work in the garden, while in the evening, I work in the garage.

Family Life and Hobbies

I’m a Doctor and I’m married and I have a child, he is 4 years old. Because of my job and my child, I haven’t got a lot of free time, but when I can, I dedicate it to D.I.Y. There isn’t a specific moment to when I dedicate time to my hobby, sometimes in the mornings or in the afternoons, but I prefer in the evenings because my son sleeps.I think that when people watch TV or work on their computers, they don’t care to do something constructive, but when you are doing D.I.Y., you have fun and get lots of satisfaction, as you make things you need without spending a lot of money. I think that I’m getting always better because my friends are asking me to do things for them, in fact last week I made a chair for one of them. The only thing needed in this hobby is calm and precision That is why I prefer DIY to computing. I can use spray varnish, so I work in the garden, while in the evening, I work in the garage.
