Il present simple si usa per azioni programmate definitivamente che non dipendono dalla nostra volontà, come gli orari ufficiali, mentre il present continuous si riferisce a azioni programmate che dipendono dalla nostra volontà, come un incontro o un viaggio.
"Be going to" esprime l'intenzione di compiere un'azione o previsioni basate su fatti disponibili, come nel caso di progetti futuri non ancora definiti, ad esempio: "I'm going to go to university" o "It's going to rain".
Il "will future" si utilizza per azioni che avverranno sicuramente, previsioni basate su ipotesi, promesse o richieste, e decisioni immediate, come in "In five years’ time, I will be 22" o "Will you make me a cup of tea, please?".
Il future continuous indica azioni che si staranno svolgendo in un determinato momento futuro, come in "I hope I won’t be doing the same job I do now", e può anche descrivere eventi futuri come se fossero già in corso.
Il future perfect esprime azioni che saranno già state completate in un momento futuro, come in "I will have completed the house by March next year", e può anche indicare azioni concluse prima di un'altra futura.
