Hannah was a seventeen year old girl. Her mother gave a party for her birthday and invited the daughter‘s friends, Thomas Smithson, a handsome and cool boy and Ralph Welling who was fat and ugly. Hannah love Thomas very much and she wishes he spoke her. She had the mouth filled whit hairpins and wears a skirt, so her mother reproaches her. She was woken up and stopped to dream the day in which she had kissed Ralph for the first time. A middle-aged woman told Hannah, her grandmother, that she has signed to the post office Hannah Wellings, but your name is Smithson.
Moral: you can have what you wish.
The first part of the story is a dream which refers to Hannah’s youth; this technique is called flash-back.
