Present simple and Present continuous

Simple present
Traduce il presente italiano. Si usa per azioni presenti generiche e si forma con la base del verbo aggiungendo una “s” alla terza persona del singolare.

Forma affermativa

He/She/It reads
We read
We don’t read
You read
They read

Forma negativa
I don't read - I do not read
you don't read - you do not read
He/She/It doesn't read - he/she/it does not read

Present Continuous
Il present continuous o present progressive indica un’azione in corso di svolgimento, qualcosa che sta avvenendo nel momento in cui si parla e traduce l’italiano “stare facendo”.
Es.: Where is Margaret? She is having a shower.
Si usa anche con un significato di futuro per indicare un’azione programmata o imminente o qualcosa che si ha intenzione di fare.
Es.: We are leaving for New York for Christmas holidays.
Si usa con espressioni di tempo legate al momento attuale (this morning, this week, tonight).
Es.: They are moving this week/ John is going to the theatre tonight.

Si forma con il presente indicativo di to be + ing form del verbo da usare.
